North Africa: Barley crop in North Africa decreased

The drought, which hit the Iberian Peninsula, led to an extremely poor barley crop in Morocco, where 1.1-1.2 million tonnes of barley will be harvested versus 2.8 million tonnes last year. Algeria expects a crop of 1.1 million tonnes versus 1.3 million tonnes in 2004, Tunisia 300,000 tonnes versus 500,000 tonnes.
